Evolutionary offshoots lurk at every turn in the fauna of Coop's doubly surreal zoology (so surreal that it becomes the normal in front of yours eyes). The fragments of the world make for biological mulligans, that make us feel at home with our own lurking stragenesses.
The title suggests the action on the set of a mutant film production, a diabolical distorted alien world Lassie--beast protecting female from monster. Is the formulaic plot the same as our universe, or does it play out in grostesque twists on our conventions?
